Artist-in-Residence Programme

An artist-run residency for research, practice & experimentation in photography
Overview

Founded in 2015 by an artist couple, Studio Goppo is a living space for research, practice, and experimentation in the history of photography. Since 2019, our Artist-in-Residence Programme has welcomed practitioners from across the world to work with both tradition and innovation — bridging art, craft, and community in Santiniketan.

Here, photography is not just about reviving old processes but reimagining them in a contemporary context. Our studio supports workshops, tutorials, and residencies in techniques such as wet plate collodion, salted & albumen prints, calotype, kallitype, gum printing, cyanotype, and more.
